LONG-TERM VISION

Entrepreneurs are some of the most unique people ever created. To be able to look at a problem and see opportunity is truly special. To see something, where nothing was before is a gift. But after a dream is established and operations begin, many entrepreneurs loose the ability see into the future, because they are so focused on the present. This is completely understandable, after all, many days look like –

Supporting that never ending march towards success is not all candy canes and roses. Sometimes entrepreneurs allow the ups and downs of the day-to-day keep them from always moving forward towards their long-term goals.

Some are distracted by a good idea (shiny object), or see an amazing opportunity that would be great (for someone else). It is in those times that an entrepreneur’s needs a guide that holds them accountable to their own plans. This is not to say that your strategic vision can NEVER change, but it does mean that when it does change, it receives the respect of being thoroughly vetted.

One of the most life-giving parts of working with entrepreneurs, is hearing them talk about their long-term vision; and discussing what it take to get from where they are today, to where they want to be in 10 years. Then, as time goes on, it is AMAZING to see entrepreneurs grow and make that vision a reality.

That reality, often called “success”, can be defined in so many ways. For some, it is the number of teammates that they are able to serve and support. Others have a specific social mission or goal they strive for. Some entrepreneurs have a number of locations, revenue, employees, or some other quantifiable number that they strive for. The coolest thing about entrepreneurship is that none of these goals are wrong. What is important is that you have a clear vision of where it is you want to go – and you do not let anything stop you from forward progress.

I help hold entrepreneur’s accountable to their own long-term vision.
